3d or not 3d?

That is the question.

I’ve been toying with the idea of doing some 3d work for ages, but wasn’t sure if a, I’ve actually got the brains to learn how to do it and b, whether there’s a market for it or not. Reading all the forums, it seems like you have to be a bit of a nerdy geek to get your head around things, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Anyway, my good friend Terry Gaylor is a bit of a 3D ‘whizz’ and put me onto a programme called Cheetah. It’s been sitting on my desktop for some time and I finally got a chance to spend some time on it. It took a while before I was producing anything I would regard as remotely ‘sellable’, but I think the proverbial penny is finally making its descent.

I didn’t really want to go down the Pixar/Disney route. (not that there’s anything wrong with that!) I just wanted to see if I could reproduce my existing 2d style of characters in 3d.

Hope you like them.
